Southwest Travel Guide
The American Southwest is rich in culture and diverse landscapes. It’s home to some of the most impressive National Parks in the country, including the Utah Mighty Five and a little thing called the Grand Canyon. If experiencing culture through food is more your style, head to Tucson or San Antonio – both have been named UNESCO Cities of Gastronomy.
As if the food, culture, and scenery weren’t enough, the Southwest has no shortage of entertainment options.
Head to Austin, Texas to check out the vibrant music scene. For those who love art, Santa Fe, New Mexico is bursting with stunning Pueblo-style architecture and world-renowned art galleries. And any curious mind will want to experience the legendary nightlife of Las Vegas.

Best Time to Visit
SUMMER
The summer heat throughout most of the Southwest can be intense. Much of the desert also experiences monsoons throughout the summer as well. Summers in northern mountainous areas, however, are much milder.
AUTUMN
September through November is an excellent time to visit the Southwest! Temperatures are warm but comfortable, and winter crowds haven’t quite made their way in yet. Northern areas even see fall colors!
WINTER
The winter months bring pleasant winter weather to most of the Southwest, so this is a good time to visit weather-wise. This is the peak tourist season for much of the region, however, so expect larger crowds and higher prices. Winter in some northern areas can get cold and snowy. Utah is a popular skiing destination.
SPRING
March through May is shoulder season in the Southwest. This is a great time to visit before the summer heat and after the winter crowds.
