Georgia Travel Guide

Georgia is a real peach. Known for its southern hospitality, subtropical climate, and delicious food, Georgia is a welcoming travel destination in the United States. Its capital city, Atlanta, has played a prominent role in U.S. history, including being the only city in the country to have been destroyed as an act of war. Today, Atlanta is a thriving hub for culture, music, and incredible southern cuisine.

If you want to experience classic southern charm, Georgia is the place.

No location is a better example of this charm than Georgia’s oldest city – Savannah. You’ll love wandering through Savannah’s many parks and soaking in the history around every turn. Looking for a coastal vacation? Georgia has that too. Grab your swimsuit and head down to Tybee Island to enjoy sandy beaches and fresh seafood.

Best Time to Visit

SUMMER
Summers are hot and especially humid in Georgia. Hurricane season also starts in June, so be cognizant of this when planning your trip. Tourism takes a dip during this period, so prices will typically drop, and crowds thin during this time.

AUTUMN
Spooky Season is a great time to visit if you’re headed to Savannah! Although you won’t find much for fall colors, Savannah is known for being one of the most haunted cities in the country. The weather in Georgia is also pretty much perfect starting in October.

WINTER
Georgia is a great place to escape the cold come winter time. The comfortable temperatures make this a popular vacation spot or Snow Bird destination. As part of the high season, expect higher prices on things like hotels in the winter.

SPRING
March through mid-May are some of the most popular months to visit Georgia. Rain showers occur occasionally, but with generally comfortable weather, this is a beautiful time to visit! This is another busy tourist season, so expect higher prices and more visitors.
