You’ve probably already heard about the incredible beauty in Rocky Mountain National Park, but Colorado is also home to three others. You’ll find the country’s deepest canyon, ancient cliff dwellings, and striking sand dunes – all within Colorado’s National Parks. Oh, and let’s not forget about Colorado’s capital city of Denver! The Mile High City (nicknamed due to its location precisely one mile above sea level) is filled with art, craft breweries, and incredible restaurants.

Best Time to Visit
SUMMER
With sunny skies, comfortable temperatures, and tons of outdoor adventures, summer is one of the best times to visit Colorado! The drawbacks are that its National Parks hit their peak tourist season in July and August, and wildfires tend to start in the summer as well.
AUTUMN
Colorado sees some fantastic fall colors! The Aspen trees turn gold around late September, and the rest of Colorado’s autumn leaves follow soon after. This is another peak time for tourists to head to Colorado, especially to Rocky Mountain National Park, and wildfires can continue through early October.
WINTER
The snowy months are still a popular time to visit Colorado! With some of the best skiing in the country, winter is a great time to visit mountain towns like Aspen and Telluride. Roads in some mountainous areas, like Rocky Mountain National Park, close for the winter.
SPRING
For mostly pleasant weather and fewer crowds, spring is the perfect time to visit. Higher elevations might still see snow and closed roads, and other areas can experience temperature swings.
